UT Scanning Systems

Overview

The advantage of the ultrasonic testing systems Sonatest offers is the flexibility and individual nature of bespoke design, providing customers with an exact match for their requirements and creating a tailor made automated solution to inspection needs. Some users of manual methods of ultrasonic testing may find they are less reliable than automatic inspections, a lack of permanent automatic records affects quality control and higher levels of skill and continuous attention required of the operator can lead to mistakes in inspection. Sonatest can address all these issues with their range of ultrasonic testing equipment.

ElectronicsSystem electronics includes step motors, integrated emergency stops, system’s safety elements and a 19” stand rack or a desktop box including a PC, a high speed A/D conversion card and the motor driver board (for up to 4, 6 or 8 axes). Overall design guarantees compliance with applicable safety UE standards and gives the best system performance avoiding induced electronic noise.

The software comprises user friendly interface modules for motion programming and control, data acquisition in all operation modes, signal presentation in single or multiple window frames, and evaluation (system or remote PC). A, B and C-scan (amplitude/TOF) presentations can be available with data recording and reporting functionality, and a complete set of evaluation tools are included (adjustable colour scales, zoom, histograms, area measurement, etc.). With the specific data acquisition algorithms, system performance is optimized in terms of resolution and scanning speed.
