Radius Wheel Probe

Where there’s a wheel...... There’s a way!
The radius WheelProbe is optimized for high speed inspection of curved and flat aerospace and composite structures. The evolutionary design of the Radius WheelProbe enables constant contactand even pressure to be applied thanks to the conformable WheelProbe tyre, resulting in consistent and repeatable amplitude response. The conformable water filled tyre allows reliable coupling even over small surface irregularities, blended repairs and low profiles fasteners. Fine water mistiing is all that is required for coupling, no mechanical pumping of water is necessary. The WheelProbe can provide an encoded strip B or C-Scan, amplitude or Time of Flight (depth) - dependant on the host instrument or reporting software. The insepction width of 50 mm in a single pass provides greater detection capability.
Circumferential & Longitudinal Scanning

The Corrosion WheelProbe has been designed specifically with Circumferential Scanning in mind. Adjusting the inspection angle of the Corrosion WheelProbe is very quick and can simply be done in situ using the lever and guide on the side of the WheelProbe, tightening the thumb wheel to lock the instrument at the desired angle. The minimum diameter that can be accommodated is 4 inches/10 cm. Scanning along the length structure is also easily acheived, The Radius WheelProbe has a front roller acessory which has been developed specifically for Longitudinal Scanning and ideal for detection of barely visible imapct damage on composite aerospace and marine structures, delamination, porosity and disbands. The Roller assembly can be detached to allow scanning closer to obstructions.
